Who we are
inked. (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a professional bid writing service for UK charities and non-profits. We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
You can contact us at: adam@inked.charity
What data we collect
We collect personal data only when you actively provide it:
- Email address — when you sign up to our mailing list.
- Booking information — when you book a discovery call via Calendly (name, email, and any information you provide). This data is processed by Calendly under their own privacy policy.
We do not currently use analytics tools that track your browsing behaviour. If we introduce analytics in future, we will ask for your consent before activating them.
How we use your data
- Mailing list — to send you occasional insights on charity funding, bid writing, and income strategy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Discovery call bookings — to confirm your appointment and follow up after our conversation.
Legal basis for processing
We rely on consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) as our legal basis for processing your email address for the mailing list. You can withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us directly.
For discovery call bookings, we rely on contract (Article 6(1)(b)) — the processing is necessary to arrange and manage your appointment.
How long we keep your data
We retain mailing list subscribers' data until they unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Booking-related data is retained for up to 12 months after your last contact with us.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We may share it with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the site:
- Calendly — for booking management. Their privacy policy governs how they handle your data.
- Email marketing provider (e.g. Mailchimp) — for mailing list management, once integrated.
All providers are required to handle your data securely and in accordance with UK GDPR.
Cookies
This website uses essential cookies required for it to function. We store your cookie consent preference in your browser's local storage. We do not currently use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict how we process your data.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at adam@inked.charity. We will respond within one calendar month.
Right to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's supervisory authority:
